Electrician

Fieldair Engineering leases, services and supplies 400 Hz solid-state Ground Power Units (GPU), diesel GPUs, gasoline GPUs and full battery GPUs. We also refurbish and supply 28 VDC solid-state or diesel GPUs or a combination of 400 Hz and 28 VDC GPUs.


We currently have a vacancy for an experienced electrician to join our Auckland team.


The position includes, Inspection, servicing, repair and general fleet maintenance of ground support equipment. Completion of relevant paperwork Assessing, diagnosing and carrying out repairs as necessary Attend breakdowns on the Airport and around various regional airports.


You will be joining a team that strives to exceed our customers’ expectations.

To apply for this role, you will ideally:


  • Be a trade qualified electrician or EST registered with the EWRB, and hold a valid licence

  • Have machinery/material handling maintenance experience

  • Have some experience with Aircraft Ground Power Units, but not essential as full training will be provided

  • A high degree of electrical and mechanical knowledge

  • Able to use your own initiative to problem solve

  • A full NZ class 1 drivers licence is a minimum requirement with "F" endorsement a bonus

  • Be computer literate

  • Be honest, self-motivated, reliable and possess a can-do attitude.

  • Great time management skills

  • Be able to gain security clearance to work airside.

  • Enjoy working as part of a small team.


Hours are Monday to Friday with some afterhours rostered-on call requirements - minimum 40 hours.
